Course Objectives 1. To teach students about anthropology and ıts sub-fields,
2. To discuss the differences in anthropological approaches,
3. To provide examples of human-environment interactions with anthropological approaches.
Course Description This course focuses on; Anthropology and basic concepts, Evolution and Genetics, Variation and Adaptation, Origin of Modern Human, Archaeology and basic concepts, From Farming to Urbanism, Kinds of Archaeology, Ethnography, Early Theories in Anthropology, Mid-20th Century Anthropological Theories, Linguistic Anthropology, Ethnicity, Globalization, Appreciating Anthropology.
Course Outcomes M.Sc. students who take this course gain knowledge, skills and proficiency in the following subjects
1. Anthropology,
2. Sub-fields of anthropology,
3. Theoretical approaches in anthropology,
4. The contribution of anthrpology,
5. Anthropological assessment of human-environment interactions.
