PET 468E - Natural Gas Processing Eng.

Course Objectives

1. To acquaint the students with the physical properties of natural gas and contaminants in general.
2. To acquaint the students with the concepts, design methods and equations used in recovery of natural gas liquids, phase separation, dehydration and sweetening processes.
3. To develop students' knowledge to hardware of the surface facilities used in the gas processing plants.

Course Description

Review of fundamental properties of natural gasses. Natural gas flow in pipes. Project Management of Natural Gas Field Development. Overview of natural gas processing technology. Natural gas treatment. Design and operation of separators. Mechanical design of pressure vessels. Safety and control instruments.
